New replacement crew.  Fighter attack over the Adriatic knocked out bomb controls and compartment heat to the nose. Pilot aborted. (Zone 4).  Returned damaged to the bomb controls and nose compartment heating system and 2 casualties

Assigned as group spare.  Flew with high squadron in third flight.  Returned with 2 superficial hits to the fuselage and no casualties.

Aborted over Adriatic (zone 3 outbound) from damage taken from enemy attacks.  Returned to base with lost of pilots' compartment heat, tail guns inoperable, port wing aileron inoperable, port wing root, control cables damaged & tail section oxygen system damaged, and 4 other superficial holes to the radio room, pilots' compartment, and port wing.  1 casualty.  Claims: 1 FW-190 by starboard waist gunner and 1 ME-109 shared by flight engineer and tail gunner.

62 Returned with #3 engine and port aileron inoperable, both waist .50s, ball and tail turret guns inoperable, starboard wing inboard fuel tank holed (self-sealed), damage to the oxygen systems to the nose and radio compartments, structural damage to the starboard wing root, superficial damage to both wings, to the starboard aileron, to the fuselage, to the bomb bay doors, to the nose, pilots', radio, waist and tail compartments, and 3 casualties.  Claims: 1 FW-190 and 1 ME-109 by MSgt.
