Replacement aircraft for DARLA'S BITE.  Retuned with rafts destroyed and minor damage.  No casualties.

Returned with rafts destroyed, starboard gun shot up, starboard wing tank holed, starboard wing root damaged, the starboard aileron shot up but functioning, and many superficial holes in the tail, and both wings.  1 casualty.  Claims: 1 FW-190 shared by 2nd Lt. Catford & Sgt. Wakefield. Temporary replacement: Sgt. Lis.

Returned with rafts & nose gun destroyed, flaps & starboard aileron inoperable, port flaps, control cables and tail root damaged.  2 casualties.  Claims: 1 ME-109, shared by SSgt. Breslof & Sgt. Andrew (Shared claim was later confirmed by S-2). Replacement: Sgt. Tippit.  Temporary replacement: TSgt. Dykstra.
19 Sgt. Wakefield rejoins crew. Returned without damage of casualties.
20 Sgt. Richard rejoins crew. Returned with the radio knocked, starboard wing root damaged, and many holes to the fuselage.  3 casualties.  Claims: 1 FW-190 & 1 ME-109 by Sgt. Andrews, 1 FW-190 by SSgt. Breslof and 1 ME-109 by Albers. Replacements: 2nd Lts. Emerick & Cannon.
21 2nd Lt. Beckett takes over as pilot. Returned without damage of casualties.
23 Aborted mission zone 4 outbound due to damage.  Returned alone out-of-formation with the Norden bomb sight, #4 engine shot out, auto-pilot Mechanism, port wing flap, control cables, bombardier's heating system, nose, top and tail guns shot out, 20% damage to the starboard wing root, extensive fire damage to tail and port window shot out in pilot compartment; bomb bay & doors holed.   6 casualties.  Claims: 1 ME-109 by Lt. Cannon. Replacement: SSgt. Weber.  Temporary replacement: 2nd Lt. Karlsen.

25 Lt. Cannon rejoins crew.  Returned with light damage to the rudder, a holed port waist fuel tank (self-sealed) and a few superficial hits to the port wing.  No casualties.

Reached target but did not bomb due to jammed bomb bay doors.  Returned with jammed bomb bay doors possibly as a result of friendly fire and no casualties.  Claims: 1 FW-190 by SSgt. Weber.

27 Returned with the starboard aileron Inoperable, structural damage to the port wing and rudder  & 1casualty.  Claims: 1 FW-190 & 1 ME-109 each by Sgt. Andrews (both of Sgt. Andrews' claims were later confirmed by S-2).
28 Returned with ball turret guns knocked out, the starboard waist gun jammed, damage to the rudder root, and other superficial holes (51 pts. on Peckham Chart).  No casualties.  Claims: 1 ME-109 apiece by Sgts. Albers & Andrew (Andrew's claim was later confirmed by S-2).

Reached target but did not release bombs.  Dropped out of formation zone 5 inbound.  Shot down by enemy fighters near Terni (zone 2).  2 KIA, 7 POWs and 1 MIA.
