Returned with #1 engine out, top and ball turret guns inoperable, damage to the control cables located in the tail section, #3 engine's oil tank holed but self-sealed, lots of holes in wings and fuselage and 1 casualty. Claims: 1 FW-190 shared by TSgt. Marcello and Sgt. Gnaudsen, 1 ME-109 apiece by Lts. Miller and Burrows (Lt. Miller's claim was later confirmed by S-2). Replacement: TSgt. Greenberg. |
