Notes

11 Replacement aircraft for RAW DEAL.  Aborted due to damage to pilots' compartment oxygen fire and loss of radio.  Aborted in zone 4 outbound; returned alone with loss of radio, pilots' compartment oxygen system damaged by fire, damage to the elevators and rudder.  2 Casualties.  Claims: 1 FW-190 by 2nd Lt. Mullalay.  Temporary replacement: Sgt. Dobson.
12 Returned with radio out, port wing aileron inoperable, minor superficial damage to the starboard wing and to the pilots' compartment from flak. 1 casualty.  Temporary replacement: 2nd Lt. Wolfe.
13 Returned without damage or casualties.
14 Runway abort. Did not take-off and form up.
15 Assigned as group spare. 2nd Lt. Mullalay rejoins crew.  Took place as 'Tail-End Charlie' after Heart of Texas aborted.  Returned with intercom inoperable and numerous superficial damage.  No casualties.
16 Sgt. Watts rejoins crew. Returned with bombardier's heater system out, superficial damage to tail and radio room.  1 casualty. Temporary replacement: 2nd Lt. Wolfe.
