SPECIAL DIF BOMBER MISSION, Friday night: "The Luftwaffe Defends Lille"

His P-38 Ldr shot down a Fw-190 on Turn 3. Lost Both his  Spitfire IXs from disengagement on Turn 2. Had both of his P-38Fs shot down. His Spitfire V Wm shot down a Bf-190 on Turn 3. His Spitfire V element responsible for 2 Fw-190s lost during disengagement on Turn 8. His Bf-109 Ldr shot down a P-38 on Turn 6 & a B-17F that was a straggler on Turn 7. Bf-109 Ldr later crash landed. His Bf-109 Wm blew up a B-17 on Turn 3. His Fw-190 Wm shot down B-24 on turn 7 and blew up a B-17E on turn 8. Lost his Bf-109 Wm to defensive fire from B-24 on Turn 3.  His Fw-190 Ldr shot down a B-24 on Turn 7. His Fw-190 Ldr blew up a B-24 on Turn 4 and shot down a P-38 on Turn 5.
This was a Special Bomber mission representing the USAAF attack on Lille, France with 4 Bomber Groups (92nd, 93rd, 97th & 301st) that lasted for 8 turns.  The Allied forces destroyed 7 fighters (35 pts) & damaged 1 (2 pts), while 7 of 12 bombers that managed to reach the target returned home (35 pts) & hit and destroyed the Production Center (Steel) target for 49 hits (80 pts).  The Luftwaffe destroyed 4 fighters (20 pts) & damaged 9 more (18 pts), and shot down 7 bombers (140 pts).  The point ratio was less than 1.5 to 1 resulting in a DRAWGeneral Carl Spaatz is unperturbed with the US Daylight Bomber campaign, while Reich marshal Hermann Goering is still fat as ever.  The Allied players were: Jack Beckman, Phil Bradley, Nick Markevich and Rory Shaw.  The Luftwaffe players were: Mike Lam, Larry Mull, Rob Mull and Martin Scott.  The GM & Mission Designer was Chris Janiec.
