PILOT HISTORY:
Wingman to 20-Kill Ace, Philo T. Farnsworth, during his first 10 missions.
Promoted to 1st Lt. after Farnsworth was shot down and declared MIA (captured).
Shot down future 15-kill Japanese Naval ace, Lt. Toshiro Mifune, on his 5th mission for his 4th victory.
Blew up and killed 6-kill Japanese Army ace, Lt. Kenji Murakami, on his 12th mission for his 7th victory.
Engaged in a 4-on-4 dogfight lead by one of Japan's top ace, Lt. Cdr. Shintaro Mendo. Shot down and killed by Lt. Cdr. Mendo's wingman, Ensign Shichi Ni. Ensign Ni was killed soon after in the same mission by one of Reed's squadron mates.
